CMB 9 was built as a motor torpedo boat for the Royal Navy in 1916 and is the only one of her type left in existence. She will join the forces boats as part of the historical vessels section of the flotilla.
St Joan was built in 1929 as a Fast Coastal Cruiser by JW Brooke & Sons of Lowestoft. She is a splendid example of the classic lines of gentlemen?s motor yachts of that era. A variety of vessels will form the 1000-strong flotilla ranging from cargo boats to police boats and historic vessels. <br><br><a style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;" href="www.sheemaun.co.uk">Sheemaun</a> has been invited to join the Thames Pageant as part of The Avenue of Sail. She was the flagship of the UK National Historic Fleet in 2010 and served with the Royal Navy during WWII as a Thames Patrol boat. <span style="font-style: italic;">Sheemaun</span> will act as <a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://littleshipclub.co.uk/" target="_blank">the Little Ship Club</a>'s flagship for the event.<br><br>This photo was taken by <span style="font-style: italic;">Sheemaun</span> crewman and Hon. Built in 1883, <span style="font-style: italic;">Alaska</span> is the oldest working passenger vessel on the Thames and a member of the National Historic fleet. She acted as the Royal Barge in July 2009 taking HM The Queen along the Thames to witness the Ancient Ceremony of Swan Upping. At 204 years old <a href="http://www.boadicea-ck213.org.uk/" target="_blank">Boadicea</a> is the oldest sailing boat still afloat in Europe. The Oyster Smack will join the fishing and cargo boats section of the flotilla.<br>
