The volunteer crew of the Torbay D class inshore lifeboat launched to assist a man who had fallen down cliffs at the eastern end of Meadfoot Beach in Torbay.
One of the crew was Doctor Alex Rowe who went ashore to assess the casualty. The man was airlifted to hospital in the coastguard helicopter.
