Campaigners from the Merseyside Maritime Museum had been hoping to bring the replica home to Liverpool, but were outbid by the London-based dealer.
Auctioneer Charles Miller told the Daily Mail: “We are delighted with the outcome.
“We gave the ship an estimate of £50,000 but really hoped it would achieve a six figure sum because it is such a spectacular object and it deserved that.
“The model is extremely decorative and detailed. It is one of the most glamorous models you will see.”
The RMS Mauretania model weighs half a tonne and reaches 42 inches in height.
