The 24 craft of the Motor Boats Monthly Normandy cruise are currently lying in Le Havre, having successfully run down from Rouen on Monday (27 August). But weather has again intervened.

We are once again off schedule, thanks to strong F5 northeasterly winds and a current that would have been opposed to it had we moved for the intended destination of St Valery-en-Caux yesterday (28 August). However, the Corvette 32 Phoebe did manage to return home to the UK in conditions that were very uncomfortable on the French side of the Channel.

Today we have four options in hand – stay where we are, try for St Valery this evening, run east to Dieppe with wind and tide together this morning or run west with the wind to St Vaast this afternoon. The decision will be made at 0900 local time this morning.

More news and a full report on days 8-10 later.
