The local boat manufacturer is among several who have pledged support for the free-to-attend show.

Sunseeker International has thrown its support behind Poole Harbour’s fledgling boat show as the show’s primary sponsor.

The first Poole Harbour Boat Show was held in 2015 and proved successful enough that organisers Poole Harbour Commissioners moved to continue the show through at least 2017 and to expand it to three days.

The show, now called The Pool Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker, will run from May 20-22, 2016. Sunseeker plans to host a ‘Sunseeker Sessions’ live music stage at the three-day event.

Bryan Jones, marketing manager for Sunseeker, the luxury boat manufacturer which has long been headquartered in Poole, said: “Sunseeker are extremely proud of their Dorset heritage so we are delighted to be associated with our local boat show. We look forward to delivering an even better ‘Sunseeker Sessions’ live music stage to showcase amazing local bands, acts and performances in what promises to be an entertaining boat show for all the family.”

The boat show’s organisers hope to build on last year’s attendance of 15,000 and are building up to host the 2017 European Maritime Day. The boat show dates were planned around the event, scheduled for 20 May 2017.

Other sponsors for the 2016 show include Coleman Insurance, the Westover Group, Humphries Kirk, Sibbett Gregory, PSP Logistics, Elite Signs and Bates Wharf boat brokerage firm.

Exhibitors signed up to the event include Berthon, Clipper Marine, Gibbs Boat Sales, Mercury, and Trusty Boat Sales among several others.

Jim Stewart, Poole Harbour Commissioners’ chief executive, said: “We’re delighted to announce such a fantastic array of sponsors for the 2016 show and wish to thank them for their support. Poole is renowned for its superb harbour, excellent water sports and internationally and nationally successful marine industries, and the Poole Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker provides a first-class platform to showcase the area’s excellence.”
