Icom IC-M71 receives BMEA Product of the Year commendation
Handheld repeats success of last year
The Icom IC-M71 VHF Marine Handheld recently won a Commendation in the BMEA Product of the Year Category at this year’s British Marine Electronic Association conference.
The conference which took place on 21st October at the Novotel Hotel, Southampton had over 80 delegates and provided an opportunity for all sides of the marine industry to get together not only to discuss topics of mutual interest but also to create and build beneficial business relationships.
This year’s conference included a number of presentations by distinguished speakers, members of the BMEA committee and representatives from the National Marine Electronic Association (NMEA).
The winner of the BMEA Product of the Year was Actisense with their NGW-1 NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 Gateway. Icom with it’s IC-M71 and Raymarine with its C Series Multi-Function Displays received commendations.
The winner of the BMEA Dealer of the Year Award, sponsored by Garmin was Landau UK Ltd. The BMEA Newly Certificated Technician of the Year award was made to Roger Upham of Roger Upham Marine Electronics Ltd.
Icom UK’s Marketing Manager, Ian Lockyer commented on winning the award: “We are very pleased that the Icom IC-M71 has received recognition by users of the BMEA site for the second year running.
