Members of the general public had the opportunity to vote for their favourite product and dealer in the BMEA (British Marine Electronic Association) Waterside Dealer and Product of the Year Awards this past week. Greenham Regis and Icom UK Ltd emerged as the winners in the online poll.

 
Members of the general public had the opportunity to vote for their favourite product and dealer in the BMEA (British Marine Electronic Association) Waterside Dealer and Product of the Year Awards this past week. Greenham Regis and Icom UK Ltd emerged as the winners in the online poll.

The winner of the BMEA Product of the Year, sponsored by Boating Business, was the Icom IC-M71, a 6-Watt top spec. VHF handheld radio, which has found its home both in the commercial and marine market places. Icom UK’s Sales Manager, Sam Taylor Nobbs commented on winning the award, ‘We are really delighted that the public have voted for the IC-M71 and that it has won such a prestigious award.

The winner of the BMEA Dealer of the Year Award was Greenham Regis. This was a special award for the company, as it was the third year in a row that Greenham Regis had won.

The 2008 British Marine Electronics Association Conference took place on 8th October at the Novotel Hotel, Southampton. 80 delegates attended the event from the marine electronic and electrical sectors of the marine industry. The conference included presentations by external speakers, as well as members of the BMEA committee.
