Police release a photograph of missing yachtsman’s boat in a bid to help find the Scottish sailor

A photograph of a yacht owned by missing sailor Antonin Mican has been released by police to help find him.

The 32-year-old was last seen in Gardenstown Harbour in the north east of Scotland on Friday October 11.

It’s believed he may have been planning to sail to Wick on the Caithness coast.

His yacht is described as a 22ft-long blue and white Jaguar 22 with one outboard engine.

Searches involving lifeboats and an RAF helicopter have so far been fruitless and now divers and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency will join the quest to find Mr Mican.

Police Scotland detective inspector Norman Stevenson is appealing for the public to report on sightings of the man.

“It appears that this boat is Mican’s only form of transport and he could have stopped anywhere along the coastline”, he said.

“We have carried out searches of the local area, although this will be continually reviewed as we go forward and assess any new information we receive.”
