Series of sailing activities and events planned for the bank holiday weekend in June
If you didn’t receive an invite to the Thames Diamond Jubilee flotilla there’s still another way to celebrate the bank holiday in style; the RYA wants sailing enthusiasts to join in with their Passage to Portland event.
Anyone interested in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant will be able to watch a screening of it at Portland Castle, followed by a street party thrown in honour of the Jubilee.
They RYA will also be celebrating the forthcoming London 2012 sailing events, offering participants a sneak peek at the Olympic and Paralympic sailing venue. You’ll even get the chance to have a behind-the-scenes look at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta and watch the first day of racing from the water.
Boat owners will make their way to Portland by boat, spend three nights at Portland Marina and enjoy a long list of activities over the bank holiday from June 2 – 5.
