Join the seven marine companies taking a fleet of Sunsail F40s on the Solent

There’s still time to sign up for the Marine Industry Regatta before it kicks off on April 17, say organisers.

Seven companies have already signed up to race six boats on the Solent: Barton/Navimo, Cooney Marine, Mastervolt, Righton, Boating Business and Sunsail.

Teams will take Sunsail F40s out from Port Solent, past HMS Victory and out into the Solent where there will be up to four races.

Teams will collect the yachts late afternoon on Tuesday April 17, followed by a buffet supper in the Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club in Port Solent. The races will begin at 8am the next morning on Wednesday 18 April with prize-giving scheduled for 5.30pm that day.

You can charter a boat for between eight and 12 people however there is only room for eight to sleep on board. Alternative arrangements can be made for anyone to stay ashore.

Entering a crew for the Marine Industry Regatta will cost £1155 (based on eight staying on board), which includes fuel, waterproofs for eight, a buffet dinner, a bacon butty breakfast, packed lunches, prize-giving tea and cakes and overnight accommodation.

The price also includes a £100 donation per yacht to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

If you want to enter as an individual it’ll cost just £200 pp including VAT.

To secure your yacht Sunsail requires a non-refundable 25% deposit and there is a 2.5% surcharge applicable to credit card payments. Debit cards and cheques remain unaffected.
