Man stabbed after sneaking onboard a yacht in Antigua at night
Intruder reportedly stabbed with his own knife following scuffle with British pensioner
An intruder was stabbed with his own knife when he snuck on board a yacht at night with the intention of robbing it, police have been told.
Colin Thomas woke in the middle of the night when he heard a noise on his yacht, moored at Jolly Harbour in Antigua (pictured above). The 66-year-old found
a man wielding a knife and wearing a towel on his head to hide his identity, reports the Antigua Observer.
Thomas told the intruder to get off the boat and the pair scuffled. It’s believed the 21-year-old trespasser was stabbed twice by his own knife
and then fled the scene.
Akeem Joseph has been charged with assault with intent to rob.
