The St Catherine’s lifeboat rescued a motorboat which was struggling in choppy conditions over the weekend.

With two people onboard, the motorboat was returning from Cateret to St Aubin when she got into trouble in choppy conditions and with suspected mechanical problems.

The lifeboat managed to locate the motorboat by using its VHF direction finding equipment, and reached the motorboat in eight minutes.

The crew wanted to try to make their way on their own, so they were escorted into St Catherine’s Bay by the lifeboat crew. Once the motorboat was secured to a spare mooring, the crew were brought ashore.
