A new scheme making lifejacket servicing simpler has been launched, hoping to make servicing simpler, more accessible and cost-effective.
 
If your lifejacket needs servicing, all you need to do is put it in a bag, fill in a label and pop it in the Lifejacket Service Point at participating ports and marinas. Your lifejacket will be collected, checked, serviced and returned to the drop off point. The service costs just £9.95.
 
“We welcome the introduction of this new service which we hope will offer similar levels of lifejacket safety to all commercial mariners in UK waters,” said Peter Moth, UK Harbour Masters Association Secretary.
 
A pilot version of the scheme is already underway, with 15 marinas participating. To locate your nearest Lifejacket Service Point, contact SeaSafe on 01983 282388.
