Party cruise ship runs aground in Caribbean
Ravers heard screaming “We’re going to die” on board
A cruise ship hosting a dance party ran aground in the Caribbean last week, leaving 2,500 passengers stranded for an entire day.
According to Mixmag, passengers on board were heard screaming, “We’re going to die!” when the ship hit a reef two miles off Grand Bahama.
The MCS Poesia, heading from Fort Lauderdale, was hosting a three-night music festival called Holy Ship! when it ran aground in shallow water in the Bahamas on Saturday.
She hit a reef in 14ft of water at low tide and was stranded for a whole day before four tugs towed her away.
According to the Huffington Post, some revellers were having so much fun on board they didn’t notice the cruise ship had ran aground.
“When it happened, it was like ‘boom!’ A huge bang,” a photographer told the Broward-Palm Beach New Times. “I heard the people in the room next to me freaking out and screaming, ‘Oh my god, we’re going down, where’s the life vests? We’re gonna die!'”
