Dee Caffari has set a new world record as the first woman to circumnavigate non-stop both ways around the world, solo.

The skipper crossed the Vendee Globe finish line after 98 days at sea and despite sail delamination which caused two huge holes in
her main sail.

She started her current race abord Aviva in the Vendee Globe on 9 November 2008 from Les Sables d’Olonne, France. The Vendee Globe, often known as the ‘Everest of the Seas’, is an extreme 27,000-mile challenge through the Atlantic and the notorious Southern Ocean.
