Refit & Repair 2000, the largest luxury yacht and small ship show which addresses specific requirements when planning a refit, repair, maintenance or conversion, will be held from 4th – 7th October, 2000 in Palma de Mallorca. The Show is specifically timed to meet the schedules of those involved in placing refit or repair orders and is an important event in the maritime calendar.

As in previous years, the Show provides a perfect venue for owners, captains, engineers and managers to meet and discuss their own projects with the world’s leading yards, as well as providing a showcase for the latest equipment and service companies within the industry. Last year, over 250 exhibitors attended from around the world as well as several thousand visitors. This year, the Show has been received equally enthusiastically and over 80% of the Exhibition Space has already been allocated to exhibitors which include a group of companies from Florida, Cammell Laird/Camper & Nicholsons from the UK and Gibraltar and all the main shipyards from Malta and Mallorca. Also exhibiting for the first time will be one of Spain’s biggest shipyard owners, E.N.Bazan.

This year’s Show will, for the first time, become part of a new event called “Palma Week”. This comprises The Palma Yacht Show (an in-water show for luxury yachts over 20m in length, where brokers and yacht builders will be able to present new and old yachts for sale); The Captain’s Lecture (a two-day seminar on a variety of issues of interest to every professional yachtsman, with particular emphasis on onboard technology; safety at sea and crew training); The European Marina Management Seminar (an event supported by the European Federation of Yachting Harbours which will focus on the latest developments and techniques in the marina industry) and, of course, Refit & Repair 2000.
