US Coast Guard picks up Russell Crowe
Gladiator actor got lost kayaking with a friend
The US Coast Guard rescued the hollywood actor Russell Crowe yesterday when he got lost kayaking with a friend.
The Oscar-winning star of the swashbuckling blockbuster Master and Commander and his friend had pulled their kayaks on the beach when they hailed the patrol boat at around 10pm. After paddling out to the Coast Guard boat, the pair were pulled on board and taken to Huntington Harbour.
“He just needed a little help,” said petty officer Robert Swieciki. “He just got a little lost. It wasn’t a rescue, really, more of just giving someone a lift.”
The actor, who is making a new film called ‘Noah’ on Long Island, sent a tweet thanking the Coast Guard. Crowe claims he didn’t get lost, saying they just “ran out of day”.
