Sir Chay Blyth has instructed his Challenge Business to carry out an international search for eight experienced ocean yachtmasters, plus reserves, to skipper the eight 72ft steel cutter-rigged sloops of the New World Challenge fleet. The race starts in Southampton next summer, then heads for Boston, New York, Buenos Aires, via Cape Horn to a Chilean port and San Diego, en route to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
