Five Volvo 40 catamarans have arrived in Portsmouth and are now being prepared for their race on Sunday. The race is planned to take place off the Southsea front giving onshore spectators a close view of this fast and exciting race.

The races are scheduled for the afternoons of May 27th, 28th, 30th, 31st and 1st June. Then the VX 40s are taking the famous Round the Island race from Cowes on Saturday 3rd June.

The Volvo catamarans can reach speeds of up to 35 knots in flat water in 20-25 knots of wind. The crew consists of four people plus one non-participant to allow a sponsor, guest or owner to enjoy one of the most exciting forms of sailing ever.
