Practical Boat Owner contributor Dylan Winter has devised an ingenious method that allows him to heat a room for 8p a day with a DIY heater made of tealights and two ceramic flowerpots.

The heater is based on the principle of convection heat transfer and in this how-to video Winter shows you how to easily build your own.

A smaller ceramic flower pot
