Overboard Clipper sailor resumes round the world race
The Clipper sailor who fell overboard in the Pacific last month has rejoined the crew on the Derry-Londonderry yacht
Clipper sailor Andrew Taylor has rejoined
the crew onboard Derry-Londonderry
after falling overboard last month.
The 46-year-old, who fell into the Pacific
during the early hours of March 30, was treated for shock and hypothermia after
the incident.
He later received the all clear from
doctors in San Francisco and has now set off with the rest of the crew as they
head to Panama.
Mr Taylor fell overboard during a sail
change in rough weather and was eventually rescued after more than an hour in
the water.
The fleet had been sailing in winds of 35
knots when the incident occurred on day 14 of race 10.
The Clipper sailor is reportedly still
suffering from a sore leg but says he is determined to complete the race
alongside his fellow crew.
