Two Newquay lifeboats came to the aid of a dog after it fell 60ft from cliffs
RNLI lifeboats were called out to rescue a dog after it fell 60ft from cliffs at East Pentire last Friday.
The Staffordshire bull terrier, called Trigger, was unharmed in the incident and later reunited with its owner.
The lifeboat crew who rescued the dog were made aware of the incident at 2.22pm, after being contacted by Falmouth Coastguard.
The owner of the dog had attempted to rescue his pet but became stuck when they were unable to climb back up a slippery grass slope.
When lifeboats arrived at the scene, they found Trigger had survived the fall and was running around on the rocks on the Gannel side of the headland at Salt Cove.
The owner of the dog was led to safety on a harness by Newquay Coastguard rescue team.
