The multi-million dollar submarine style superyacht is being sold by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko, who is upgrading with Sailing Yacht 'A'.

Recently photographed in Iceland, superyacht ‘A’ is on the market with a $300 million price tag. It is also known as Motor yacht ‘A’.

Russian industrialist, Andrey Melnichenko is selling it ahead of receiving his new $400 million sailing yacht, also known as ‘A’, which is currently being built in Nobiskrug shipyard on the Eider River in Rendsburg, Germany.

It is believed that once completed sometime in 2017, the new superyacht, which has already undergone sea trials, will be one of the biggest sailing vessels in the world.

Currently, Motor yacht ‘A’ is listed as one of the 25 largest superyachts in the world.

Built by Blohm + Voss in 2008, the 390 foot ‘A’ was designed by Philippe Starck.

Described as “a truly unconventional superyacht”, ‘A’ has an upside down hull and unique exterior aesthetics.

Up to 14 guests can be accommodated in the one owner’s suite and six guest suites. It can also cater for 42 crew.

Powered by twin 6035hp MAN RK280 diesel engines, ‘A’ has a top speed of 23 knots with a range of 4250nm.

It also boasts a range of unique features such as three swimming pools that create currents to swim against.

The luxury yacht, which has a steel hull, also has a helipad and two 36 foot tenders. The decks are made of teak.

The window panes are 44-millimetres thick and can withstand a grenade explosion.

In comparison, the new 469 foot sailing yacht ‘A’ will have eight decks. In the keel, it will feature a one-foot thick glass underwater observation area.

The sailing yacht’s masts are believed to be the largest in the world, which the tallest reaching 328 feet above the water level.

It will be powered by a hybrid diesel-electric package with controllable pitch propellers and will reach a top speed of 21 knots, with a cruising speed of 16 knots.

The luxury yacht will be able to accommodate up to 20 guests a a crew of 54.
