Two conjoined grey whale calves have been discovered by fishermen in Mexico
Conjoined twin whale calves were discovered by fishermen on the Baja California peninsula but they died shortly after birth.
According to marine biologist Benito Bermudez, the whales were found alive but sadly only lived for a few hours.
The twins, which were severely underdeveloped, were linked at the waist but had two full heads and tail fins.
Samples of the whales’ skin, muscle and baleen, the mammals’ filter feeding system, have been collected by scientists for research purposes.
