£3m facelift for Chichester Marina
Boats up to 50ft will be able to use the new spacious boatyard
Premier’s Chichester Marina will undergo a £3m development to create a new large-scale boatyard, complete with 50ft boatshed, workshops, offices and chandlery.
At the heart of the new boatyard will be a boatshed with dedicated rigging and maintenance units for working on boats through the winter.
Smaller buildings flanking the boatshed will house a mix of retail space and small-scale workshops that will be used for a range of marine services.
Premier Marina‘s Managing Director Pete Bradshaw said: “Chichester is a designated area of natural beauty and whilst our boatyard design had to be fit for 21st century boat maintenance and repair, it was also important that the architecture was sensitive to the preservation of the natural beauty of the harbour.
“We achieved this by working closely with local stakeholders before the formal planning consultation even took place.”
The construction of Chichester Marina’s new boatyard is now well underway and is expected to complete in the late spring next year.
