Team Legato is expected to pass through the Straits of Gibraltar early tomorrow, three days behind their Polish rivals on Warta Polpharma

Now within 200 miles of sighting the Rock of Gibraltar, Tony Bullimore predicts that he and his Team Legato crew will pass through the Straits into the Mediterranean early tomorrow on the final stage of their circumnavigation.

Having been beating non-stop since the Falklands, the Bullimore’s boys can’t wait for a change in wind direction. Any direction other than on the nose will do, but for the moment it looks like more of the same as they continue to beat up the North African coast.

Polish rival Warta Polpharma passed through the Straits at 2030 GMT on Saturday, and are now beating into a Mistral. The time it takes them to complete the final 350 miles to Marseilles will be a good indicator as to Team Legato’s finish date. For the moment it looks like Thursday or Friday.
