Today, ECOVER officially becomes the sponsor of Mike Golding’s entry in the EDS Atlantic Challenge, and the name of his Open 60, formerly Group4, in a naming ceremony to be held in Southampton later this morning.

Organised by Sir Chay Blyth’s Challenge Business, The EDS Atlantic Challenge Race is set to be the first ocean race for crewed Open 60s. With between three and five crew on each Open 60, it will be interesting to see the true potential of these ultimate machines.

Starting on 3rd July in St. Malo, France, the race stops in Hamburg and Portsmouth (UK) before racing across The Atlantic to Baltimore. The yachts will then sprint up to Boston before racing back across The Atlantic to finish in St. Malo towards the end of August.
