Hampshire port receives highest accolade from the Yacht Harbour Association

Port Solent Marina has been awarded five Gold Anchors by the Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

The Gold Anchor award scheme rates marinas from one to five. It’s a voluntary scheme that was developed to help boat owners choose where to berth. Port Solent Marina received the highest accolade of five Gold Anchors this week following a recent assessment of the facilities.

Gareth Turnbull, general manager of TYHA, said: “Port Solent offers a sheltered, safe and secure location manned 24/7 every day and the facilities on offer are superb, not least the ‘exceptional’ shower and toilet blocks. This marina offers a full range of leisure activities on its door step and is known by locals as a good recreational destination.”

Premier Marinas owns and operates 400 of the 800 berths at Port Solent Marina. They were praised by Mr Turnbull, who said: “Our detailed assessment and review of the berth holders’ satisfaction at Port Solent marina proves that Premier Marinas is helping to set the standard for UK marinas.”

“We are delighted and honoured to have been awarded Five Gold Anchors,” said Port Solent’s general manager Andy Osman. “This prestigious award reflects the hard work of my marina team and our continual investment in our marina services and facilities.”
