A new series of the pay-to-race Round Britain and Ireland Challenge has been confirmed for 2011.

Race one will take place in the late spring aboard RBI Challenge’s fleet of bespoke race spec Hanse 430s and will include a number of ‘social stopovers’.

Steve White, OSTAR winner and Vendee Globe competitor, has just announced he will attempt the round the world record and said, “It is no small thing to sail around Britain and Ireland and you will surely meet some varied and testing conditions. The race format makes this a uniquely affordable event in terms of both time and berth fees, so now there are no excuses or reasons not to sail around our country – go ahead and realise your dream!”
