Teignmouth lifeboat on search for missing person rescues coastguard
The lifeboat was deployed to look for a missing person, but ended up rescuing an injured coastguard.
The Teignmouth lifeboat was deployed after the police asked for help in looking for a missing person.
The crew of the Two Annes were searching the coast between Bundle Head and Maidencombe beach when they decided to go ashore to check the beaches and the rocks thoroughly. Rather than the missing person they were tasked to look for, they found an injured coastguard.
The man was immediately given assistance and taken aboard to Sheldon where the lifeboat crew members contacted the local coastguard.
The missing person they had set out to look for was later found in Maidencombe.
