After being cancelled this year due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth, Helly Hansen have announced that once again it will be supporting the Three Peaks Yacht Race, scheduled to start in June next year

This month should have seen the start of the Helly Hansen Three Peaks Yacht Race 2001, but due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth it had to be cancelled. This is the first time the event has been cancelled since it was established in 1977.

Julia Wilson, Marketing Manager for Helly Hansen UK said, “We are very much looking forward to supporting the event in 2002. We fully support the decision of the race committee and it is regrettable that the Three Peaks Yacht Race 2001 had to be cancelled.

The Helly Hansen Three Peaks Yacht Race that starts at Barmouth in Wales, takes sailors, cyclists and runners along the West Coast to navigate some of the most treacherous waters, to run up the UK’s highest mountains, and to cycle across inhospitable terrain. More than 120 participants put themselves through rigorous training to take part in this endurance test.
