Bus landed on the beach in Northern Ireland.

UK Coastguard staff attended the scene at Strangford Lough, County Down, Northern Ireland, after a bus crashed on Portaferry Road and landed on the beach.
At 0655 this morning UK Coastguard received a call from an off-duty Coastguard rescue officer who reported that the bus was on the beach outside Newtownards.  Bangor and Portaferry Coastguard rescue teams were sent to the area. The police and ambulance service were also in attendance. There were no passengers on the bus.
The driver has been taken to hospital and the Bangor Coastguard rescue team has remained on the scene to secure the area.

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency are sending officers to the scene to check for any pollution that may have occurred.
