Video: all-weather RNLI lifeboat assists 94m cargo vessel
RNLI all-weather lifeboat launched just after 11pm a cargo vessel suffered engine failure 8.5 miles south east of Tenby. Watch the dramatic footage here.
The RNLI lifeboat launched on Monday 1 February to help the craft in trouble in Pembrokeshire.
Despite the crew of the Aasvik’s attempts to deploy their anchor, the cargo vessel needed extra help as there was a high risk of it grounding if the anchor failed to hold.
Tenby RNLI lifeboat promptly arrived at the scene and stood by in rough seas as the crew of the troubled boat secured the anchor.
Once it was determined that the anchor was holding successfully, the lifeboat was stood down by Milford Haven Coastguard, arriving back at the station at 12.30am.
