Boaters at Watchet harbour in Somerset are being warned of delays getting and out of the marina after the sea gate was damaged last week.
 
The entire seven-tonne hydraulic gate will need to be replaced as a result, but it’s not yet clear how the damage happened.
 
Marina manager James Purnell warned that while a temporary system is running, boat owners will need to be patient until the gate is repaired.
 
“We’ve got to take a lot of things into consideration including the weather and tides.
 
“We’re keeping everything going as best as we can but we are asking if anybody comes to Watchet by boat then contact us in the marina office and we can make arrangements to help people get in and out.”
