Diver rescued by the Royal Navy, the Coastguard and RNLI
The missing diver was found off the Cornish coast
The Royal Navy, the Coastguard and RNLI joined forces in Cornwall to rescue a diver who’d been separated from his partner diving a wreck miles off the Lizard Peninsula.
The dive boat sent a mayday call at 2.30pm on Tuesday 1 September, which set off a big combined rescue operation.
The Coastguard called upon the assistance of RNLI lifeboats, a Sea King from 771 (Search and Rescue) Naval Air Squadron and Royal Navy frigate HMS Somerset which was nearby.
