A man has finally come forward to retrieve a forgotten motor cruiser after it sat unclaimed for two years

A man has finally claimed a motor cruiser that’s been sitting in a Swedish harbour for two years after he allegedly forgot that he owned it.

Astonishingly, the keys to the Rinker 342 had been left tied to the railings.

According to the Expressen GT newspaper, the owner had intended to sell the vessel reportedly worth as much as £65,000 in 2012, and thought he had.

It wasn’t until local police launched a Facebook appeal for information about the owner that the misunderstanding came to light.

Media in Norway picked up the appeal after newspapers and a diary found on board suggested that the owner of Fiesta Vee was from the country.

The owner finally came forward yesterday to claim the boat, saying that he had forgotten about the vessel.
