Raymarine have this week announced they
will be sponsoring a season-long series of UK-based sailing events known as the
J/80 Championships.

This year’s events start in April with the
Warsash Spring Championships, then moving onto the J/80 Nationals and Royal
Southern Yacht Regatta, both being held in May.

June sees the 2014 Raymarine J/80
Championship take part in the Round the Island Race, followed by the J-Cup in
July and finally finishing off in August with Cowes Week.

Raymarine UK sales manager Harry Heasman,
said: “The new Raymarine 2014 J/80 Championships provides a season-long test
for the highly competitive J/80 class.

“We’re pleased to support this great new
series that rewards a complete season’s performance for boat and crew; the
exciting programme takes in a variety of locations and sailing conditions, just
as the J/80 class likes it.”

First, second and third place finishers
from the championships will receive various prizes from the Raymarine product
range with the ceremony taking place at Southampton’s annual boat show in
September.
