Sailor dies in hospital after falling overboard
The women was taken to hospital shortly after the incident but sadly passed away on Friday
A sailor has died in hospital after falling overboard during a race off the coast of Bridlington.
The woman, named as Maxine Wood, was in a very poor condition after being recovered from the water on 12 July and sadly died on Friday afternoon.

Two RNLI lifeboats from Bridlington and Flamborough attended the scene following the incident, which saw both Mrs Wood and another man hospitalised.
Rescue crews said Mrs Wood was unconscious when taken aboard the lifeboat and was transferred to a coastguard helicopter before being taken to hospital in Hull.
A man reported be in his seventies was also on board the vessel at the time of the incident and was found to be suffering from the cold, but was otherwise unharmed.
Steve Stanton, commodore at the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club, of which Mrs Wood was a member, told the Bridlington Free Press: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Steve Wood and his family and he has requested that members respect their privacy at this distressing time.”
