Three rescued from sinking speed boat off Bournemouth
RNLI crews from Poole were tasked to the sinking speed boat on Saturday afternoon
Three people were rescued from a sinking speed boat on Saturday after RNLI crews from Poole came to the group’s aid.
An inshore lifeboat was sent to the scene just before 4.30pm after being alerted to the incident by Solent Coastguard.

While on route to the scene, the three crew on board the sinking speed boat were rescued by RNLI lifeguards and taken ashore.
After checking that those who had been aboard were okay, the lifeboat proceeded to secure the 16ft Fletcher as it was still afloat and a hazard to navigation.
The stricken vessel was then brought ashore west of Boscombe pier after volunteers sought permission from the local council. Slipway access is located nearby, with the intention that the boat will be recovered at a later date.
