A fire investigation is underway after a yacht was destroyed by a fire on Friday morning in Hythe Marina

A yacht was gutted by flames on Friday
morning in Hythe Marina, Southampton.




Fire crews from the surrounding area attended
the blaze, which began in the early hours of the morning.




No one was on board the vessel at the time
of the fire and no one was injured.




Investigators are currently working to
discover the cause of the fire.




MDL Marinas, who own Hythe Marina, said: “MDL
Marinas can confirm the Fire Service attended Hythe Marina Village in the early
hours of Friday morning, following a fire on a customer’s boat. The fire was
quickly contained and extinguished, with no further damage to other vessels or
the marina.




“The swift action of our staff and the emergency
services prevented any injury or damage to other vessels or property. We are
now working with the vessel owner and relevant parties to establish the cause
of the fire.”
