The sporting couple will compete against Simon and Yasmin Le Bon in the 50-mile round-the-island dash

Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall are set to return to this year’s Artemis Challenge at Cowes Week.

Racing against experienced sailors Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, Phillips and Tindall will be aiming to scoop the £10,000 cash prize for a charity of their choice.

The race, which forms part of Thursday’s Ladies Day at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, features a fleet of some of the fastest offshore racing yachts in the world, ranging from 60 to 70ft.

Each boat will be crewed by up to 12 sailors, with Phillips and Tindall racing onboard Artemis Ocean Racing II.

Other high profile boats in the fleet include Team SCA, an all-female crew set to compete in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15.

Meanwhile, the Le Bons will be competing onboard Azzam with the crew of Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, another challenger for the next Volvo Ocean Race.

The Artemis Challenge follows the classic America’s Cup route around the Isle of Wight, starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron Line at 10am.
